Fish Portraits by Josi Etter

Purchase a Custom Painting

Remember: it is $15/inch (plus $20.00 shipping and tax), with a $100 deposit. The remainder of the charge will be due at the time of delivery.

How it works:

Send in a picture of your fish and we paint it at actual size with breath taking accurate color and detail. The process is a nice alternative to traditional taxidermy, great for all fishermen and for those fly fishermen who do their fishing in catch and release waters.

The simple process to have a fish painted or quoted is:

  1. Send in a picture or description of your catch. The photo can be sent via email to info@sketchandrelease.com or through the mail. Call (585) 323-2864 for the address.
  2. In the description of the fish please tell us the species, location of your catch and any size or measurement you have. If you don’t have the size, we can estimate the length and girth from the photograph. If you do not have a photograph just describe your fish and we are able to paint you a prototype of your fish (with the color and character you would like your fish to be). Remember: The pricing is $15 per inch (multiply the length of the fish by 15 and you have the price) plus tax and shipping ($20.00), with prices starting at $175..
  3. Send in $100 down payment via check or with credit card on our secure site (click the Buy Now button above) and we will begin painting.
  4. Completion of the art work will take between 6-12 weeks and will then be sent insured to your address.
  5. Final payment is due at the arrival of the artwork.

Note: You always have the option to have a painted fly underneath the fish or hand written information like: name, place of the catch and date. We also provide framing options if you wish.
